Hi,
I am professor of econometrics and specialize in break point detection in time series models. Check out my review on change-points (it says macroeconometrics but it applies to other fields as well). I am not an expert at programming in Python, but I have extensive knowledge on break-point detections and ideas how to approach the challenge in the competition.
