Autoimmune Disease ML Challenge – Results Timeline Update

Crunchers,

We know a lot of you have been waiting patiently to hear what’s next with the Autoimmune Disease Machine Learning Challenge results.

During this phase, the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard will evaluate which models might actually get used in the lab.

Here’s the full timeline breakdown:

Phase 1: Model Review (1-2 months)
Your submissions will be analyzed across all hold-out tissue sections.
ETA: August 2025

Phase 2: Experimental Validation (3–4 months)
Once the top models are picked, the Schmidt Center will order custom gene panels and validate predictions in the lab. As lab work may have technical challenges, we will update you if there are any changes to this timeline.
ETA: Early 2026

Final results, including top team rankings and findings, will be shared via email to your registered address as soon as the Schmidt Center completes its wet lab phase.

Until then, all updates will also appear in Discord announcements, on the Crunch News Forum, and LinkedIn.

Will there be direct or Leaderboard-style feedback after Phase 1: Model Review is completed in August?

No.
Once they reviewed the model, they will then order the xenium panel, and only after which we will be able to score the models.
